Mind doodle–The oligarchs, the corporations have decided there are too many people on this planet. What happens when people in power decide there are too many people. Why? People need resources too survive. People need wages, healthcare, food, shelter. People want self-fulfillment. All of this diminishes what is available to feed the greed of the few who believe only they have the right to live.
Guess what doesn’t need any of that? Machines, lines of code–all working non-stop to feed the greed of the few. So, how to get rid of most of the pesky humans that you no longer need to create wealth for you? You just need a few Slaves and entertainers. Disease, War, Famine–all artificially manufactured to decrease the population. Add to that a volatile climate, a restless earth, the poisoning of the oceans and rivers, and the depletion of the earth itself so it no longer produces nutritious food. The few don’t care how the masses die, fast or slow–as long as the masses no longer require the resources they selfishly desire to feed their greed. End mind doodle. All this, because I saw a blurb about robots that look human, opposable thumbs and all?
T.D. Jakes, the very well fed, prosperity gospel preaching, so called Christian (he so reminds me of the fat cat Charles Dickens wrote about in Oliver Twist) asked President Traore of Burkina Faso his thoughts on Christianity. President Traore gave a thoughtful, practiced, vanilla reply about the toxic Christianity that was evangelized to Africans. I wish he had told that so-called Christian that people on the continent of Africa had their own spiritual traditions that had served them well for thousands of years and that the fake performative spirituality of Western Christianity had no place there and would be rooted out. However, he is a Muslim and probably believes that the spiritual traditions of his Ancestors are pagan.
Yes, the original stories that are memorialized in the Bible were written by a people who today would be seen as Black. However, the Bible we have today has been corrupted by the many interpretations that the West has required in order to support patriarchy, empire, white supremacy, etc.
Thinking about the slew of Executive Orders and the Supreme Court upholding the blatant overreach of power and…we’re dealing with a Catholic majority on this Supreme Court. Apparently, they want a president to exercise power like the Pope does. The Pope exercises power through papal decrees. And apparently there is no method within the church to challenge these decrees with the aim of overturning them. One can protest by ignoring the decree, but that will subject one to disciplinary action which is instigated by the Pope(?) and carried out by the Pope’s loyalists with the full approval of the Pope. Or one waits until that Pope dies and the next Pope will issue a decree more to your liking. Sound familiar?
The system set up by the Constitution is anathema to the Catholic’s preferred method of exercising authority. Catholics are accustomed to one man making decisions for them. They don’t seem to care if that person is moral, ethical, compassionate, pedophile, etc. Look at some of the past Popes and their shenanigans! All they care about is the position and whoever holds that position can do whatever he wants and his flaws, weaknesses, lacks are overlooked by some, used by others for their own gain, and actively promoted and participated in by others.
In the future, if there is one–the Supreme Court needs to be overhauled so that it becomes a diverse group that is not committed to any ideology that is detrimental to democracy. Again, I reiterate–the European Dark Age was mostly the creation of the Catholic Church to consolidate and maintain power. Education of the masses was forbidden so that only the priests could read and interpret the Bible which was their blueprint for life. And, the church was greedy, performative in showcasing its wealth (pageantry), strict in wielding retributive punishment, and class adherent while the masses suffered poor health, substandard housing, lack of food, no education, no mobility–all the while giving their wealth in the form of tithes, etc. to the church (prepayment for their glorious afterlife?). Only some could enjoy life while actually being alive. All others had to wait for death to have rest. Sound familiar?
Just think, we would all be Catholic if Martin Luther hadn’t protested against the sale of indulgences which, by the way, the Church did not officially sanction, but apparently it turned a blind eye to the priests, etc. who profited from the sale of indulgences. I looked up “indulgences” and an “indulgence” is the partial or total remission of the temporal punishment that remains after a sin is forgiven. I suppose “temporal punishment” is the guilt that one continues to feel and/or the judgment (shunning/ostracizing) by the village, even though you’ve been told by the priest to go and sin no more. One is supposed to pray and do good deeds to earn this “indulgence”. However, priests saw a way to monetize a sinner’s guilt and they wanted gold, silver, goods in return for telling the forgiven sinner that they no longer needed to feel guilty. (Note…layperson who only knows what I’ve read over the years and from a quick Google search.)

I bought the seeds because the packet said mini-melons. However, these melons are tiny and they’re ripe. I probably won’t plant these seeds next year!
