Unfortunately, lies are having a heyday. The incompetents who run the government have decided that lies are their bedrock. And, the new technology on the block, AI, lies to make you feel good about yourself. Social lies…everyone does that, but the incompetents who the news cycle highlights are killing people with guns and policies. Then, the corporate media sane washes their lies and spread the lies and bury the truth.
And the hoi polloi are too stupid to think. Whatever the corporate media says is good enough for them. Too stupid to know that the lies have been used before and, if they knew the least bit of history, they would know the consequences of the lies. And hoi polloi…the consequences for us are never to our benefit.
Got a calendar as a gift. Michele Obama’s picture was the month of January’s picture. I think Michelle Obama is intelligent, but when she did that picture channeling Jackie Kennedy, I lost respect for her. In this United states of America, dominated by white males and inculcated with white supremacy, some P.R. person thought the picture would make her more acceptable to the white population. That P.R. person never thought that it might alienate the people who voted for her husband. At the time he was the lesser of the evils, so the betrayal signified by that picture had to be thrust aside as another of the thousand cuts that we endure in this country. However, I do realize that this country has never respected us as we are. However the whites adopt and claim with impunity our features…those features that can’t be accepted as ours on us. Whites are hypocrites who claim what is not theirs and do their best to destroy the prototype.
You see it all the time on You Tube when there are posts pertaining to ancient history. The ancients, no matter where located, are always depicted with white skin when, in reality, the ancients in most of the world were melanated–brown to ebony. But the persons, who have named themselves “white” appropriation of history is popularized through the visual media which they control.
My point, if the white supremacists that occupy this country are calling you “ape” and other derogatory names…why not present an image of self that depicts a distinct you, different from them, but obviously more intelligent, more humane, more civilized than they could ever be. We’re not there and probably, on the trajectory that this country is on, will never be.
I wonder if white women understand the misogyny of patriarchy. Patriarchy has no care for the life of a woman. That women are being murdered doesn’t upset this regime–in a patriarchal society, women are expendable, especially, if they do not consent to being slaves to the males. White women are being murdered either through gun violence or lack of medical care…the misogynistic patriarchy does not care. In a patriarchy, women are fungible, and anything that is fungible, is expendable. So no, the death of these white women will not cause widespread protests…only lies and hypocrisy–as the regime soothes the hoi polloi with a farcical story that its rabid followers will expand upon until the murder, the deaths become a patriotic act.
When the only option is the lesser of the worse, choosing the lesser of the worse does not make one feel that one has done the right thing. One is left with a lump in one’s throat and a heaviness of spirit. Just saw a series, where there was not one sympathetic character. Selfish amoral characters making bad choices to further their selfish amoral ends. Is that the kind of series what passes for entertainment in 2025? What was the point? To show people that are worse than average so that the viewer can feel better about their worseness? I can’t say the series was a psychological drama. It was just awful people making awful choices. I kept watching, thinking there would be something positive in all the worseness. There was not.
The United Sates will be 250 years old in 2026. There is nothing to celebrate. There are hooded masked men terrorizing innocent people. The federal government is controlled by grifters, grafters, liars, greed, contempt for the citizens, war mongers–nothing to celebrate.
The patriarchy was created to support a lie that is ongoing–that males are superior to females. To sustain that lie, the adherents of patriarchy have extracted resources, enslaved persons, created divisions in humans, spread their mediocrity, destroyed all that fell victim to its hegemony, Disease, division, discord, dissension, demonization, death are the hallmarks of patriarchy. And its Achilles heel–patriarchy never had a future story. Patriarchy is firmly rooted in its toxic present and even more toxic barbaric past.
I read Octavia Butler’s A Few Rules For Predicting the Future. (Science fiction writer. Will read her two novels dealing with fascism and totalitarianism as they are books that are much cited. I read Butler’s early work and stopped after becoming disenchanted with her seeming cow towing to “whiteness”. Even have one of her books on my book shelf that I never read. Even then, I understood that in order to be published she could not treat “whiteness” as the evil it was and is. I have read 1984 and Brave New World and I will read her take on fascism and totalitarianism.)
Seems like she studied Germany’s devolvement into fascism for her novels. She could find no way for societies not to succumb to fascism and totalitarianism from her study. However, what about the elephant in the room–patriarchy? Humans existed before patriarchy and can exist without it. As previously stated, patriarchy thrives on hierarchy, violence, lawlessness, manufactured scarcity, otherness, war, separation of us from this Earth, our Mother. The same ills that give rise to fascism and totalitarianism. Rid ourselves of the hegemony of patriarchy and, maybe, just maybe, we homo sapiens, can find our way back to a more harmonious relationship with this Earth and each other. The demise of patriarchy should be on the table.
Isn’t the December moon pictured above a wonderful sight? I took the picture on a December evening after being disappointed that I had not captured a ghostly afternoon moon in a blue, blue sky with only the competition of wisps of diaphanous clouds for my attention.
