So far, this July has been a wet month. Rain every day or every other day. The weeds that look like a green carpet when mowed love the rain. I do, too. I dislike watering my plants and the more it rains, the less I have to water. And the temperatures have been in the 90s for the last couple of weeks. Unless one gets up at sunrise, it’s too hot too walk outside, plus the air quality is poor. Is it too hot for the butterflies? My zinnias haven’t been visited by the butterflies like they were last year. I haven’t seen as many bees, but the moles are as active as ever.
Thoughts on the death of a young Black male who was in the company of young white males– How does a parent, an elder, a caregiver get an immature brain to understand that just because you see two legs, two arms, and a head does not mean that what you see has any relation to you? What is inside that body shape if it belongs to the group that has named itself “white” is a brain that has not evolved…the brain is stuck in the lizard stage. That means that what you are seeing has no feelings that you would recognize. What you are seeing is a body that embodies evil. That body has no respect for your existence. That body will murder you and have no qualms or regrets. That body will lose no sleep. That body will congratulate itself that it murdered you and will face no consequences. Evil walks, evil smiles, evil pretends…how do you get that across to an immature brain?
Black elders also have to teach their children that all skinfolk aren’t kinfolk. And it’s always good to know that when a person tells you who they are…believe them and act accordingly. Muhammad Ali was right…paraphrase…if you’re standing at a door and ten snakes are clamoring to get in and you know five of those snakes won’t bite you…slam the door on all of them. It’s like our self-preservation instinct is not functioning. We live in hostile territory…act accordingly.
Thinning out the population…war, disease, drought, pestilence. The food supply in the United States is becoming more and more tainted. Cyclospora cayetanensis has spread to thirty or more states. That’s probably the very tip of the iceberg. The federal government, in its infinite non-wisdom and lack of caring for the “People” has decided not to track the outbreaks of illnesses caused by contaminated food and certainly has decided to do nothing that is preventative. Preventative measures would cause less profit to the food manufactures, farmers…anyone in the food chain. Less profit for the corporations is so un-American!!!
And the ultimate goal of the billionaires is that there should be fewer of us “People”. War and food insecurity through drought and contamination would appear to be the main drivers of population decrease at this time. Disease is also part of the top three.

The Outline Of History by H.G. Wells is a two volume set by the author of many science fiction stories. It was first published in 1920 in England and specifically revised for the United States market. For a time, this book was the popular history text used by many U. S. educational institutions in their history class. The copy I read was last copyrighted in 1956. Therefore, the book had been updated to include some events from the 1950s. H. G. Wells died in 1946, so another writer/historian was updating the book. It amazes me the shenanigans that authors put themselves through to support a narrative. H.G. Wells talks about a group he calls the “dark whites”, i.e., the “brunet people, the Aegeans. He’s talking about the Southern Europeans who we know were not accepted as “white” in the U.S. until the turn of the twentieth century. I understand that he extensively revised this “history” for the U.S. audience. I wonder if that was one of his revisions? It’s a minor point, but it says something about the audience that the author thought would be the buyers of his “History”.
This “History” had little coverage of Africa other than Egypt. Wells covered China, Rome, Greece, Europe, India quite extensively. I suppose this was mainly a history of the British Empire and how Britain became entangled in WWI. To do that, Wells had to cover quite a bit of territory. All in all, I think he was as fair as he could be. He recognized that the British Empire was not the civilizing “Great Father” that it claimed to be. Wells understood that the Empire was about resource extraction, cheap labor, and the destruction and exploitation of native cultures. The “History” is two volumes, but as Wells was a science fiction writer, the volumes were not tedious to read. The question I have is if this is the “History” that many U. S. colleges and universities used in the 1920s and 1930s…were only excerpts read? Because if the volumes were read in their entirety, one would think that world would not be where it is today. Too many countries, empires have made the same mistakes that are being repeated today. All ended badly. Why not learn from past mistakes, especially if someone has written a history that sets out in detail the negative outcomes of the path we walk today?
Savagery was a word that Westerners used to, again, to consciously differentiate them from non-Westerners, to assert that superiority, that cultural superiority. It goes back to the British Empire, and again, you know, what was the purpose of the British Empire? To bring civilization to the savage no matter where they were, whether it was India or Asia or Australia or whatever. It’s that civilizing mission that characterizes so much of the history of Western colonialism. Robert Williams, Jr. I think Wells understood who the true savages were. This is an example of the hypocrisy of white superiority and how it is hyped to make their savagery palatable to those who might not think like them.
Mind doodle–Time…I recently viewed a video on time or I should say the construct of time created by humans. When you think about time…do you really think of the millions of years when there were no clocks, sundials, or other methods invented by humans to tell time? In our vast past, there was sunrise and sunset, or light and dark, or sun and moon. Increments of time we deem so important really did not come into existence until the Industrial Revolution. Then, the measurement of time, incremental time, became important so that more and more labor could be extracted from the hoi polloi. That’s when seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks became part of the societies in which we live. The video’s point was that the universe did not require man’s construct of time in order to be.
It talked about what we see as the passage of time is an illusion…that our lives are like books, already written, and our past, present, and future lives are written in that book. We have no free will as our lives have been determined. We, being, the main character, do not write this book…I suppose the universe does and we have no say in the events that make up our book. But, our past, present, and future are contained in that book. However, there is no way, with our current understanding of time as linear, simply turn a page and know our future or return to a prior page.
I’m not a physicist, but this doesn’t seem right to me. The concept of being the main character in a book that has been written got me to thinking of Schroedinger’s cat. Is the cat in the sealed box dead or alive? We don’t know until we open the box that contains the cat. If that is true then the decisions we make throughout life is deciding to open the box and each decision would cause the possibility of new realities. So the book of our lives would be one of infinite possibilities with each or our decisions marking a turning from one possibility to another set of infinite possibilities. That seems more like life as experienced, but free will, the ability to make choices…maybe that is also a human construct that the universe does not require. End mind doodle.
Binged watched the show Extinct which aired in 2017. Total ripoff of Stargate. Human beings used as a host for a parasite. In Extinct, a malignant crystalline intelligence. All of these parasites bring out the worse traits in humans. Makes for dramatic conflict which keeps the viewer coming back for more? The Goa’uld in Stargate had no redeeming qualities and these parasitic crystalline entities…ditto. The show only lasted a season. I suppose Stargate (1994 film) was a rip-off of the Alien movies, the first of which aired in 1979. (I actually went to see the first one and that was when I knew that all science fiction movies were not for me. I found it to be more of a horror movie than science fiction.) However, what was going on around 2017? One of the main characters, a Black male, actually survived. Was this when the subliminal programming began telling the Black male if he would play the white man’s game by the white man’s rules that he would survive?
93 degrees outside, but I had to pick the beans before they dried up. I wanted green beans, not bean beans. So, I got a meal. I blanched the beans and froze them for another day. While picking the beans, the mosquitoes feasted on me. Didn’t even think to put on repellant because I hadn’t been outside, because of the heat, to notice them. The beans have plenty of blossoms so I’ll be picking some more in about a week. 
Tennessee, according to CNBC, is the number one worst state to live in. Unfortunately, CNBC is correct. When one sees the ignorant glee of lawmakers gerrymandering the state so that only their racist, ignorant, pseudo-religious ideas have credence, one realizes the oppression they expect Tennesseans to accept. Outside the major cities, there is no healthcare, these ignorants have sold the state to data center developers, white supremacists want to create white only towns/counties, and the education is so poor that the children couldn’t write home about it, even if they wanted to. As long as one is spouting ignorance, syphoning tax dollars to themselves, family, and friends, being hypocritical, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and violent toward the “other”, Tennessee welcomes you. These ignorants have thoughts and prayers and not one solution to feed the hungry, house the homeless, provide medical care for the sick, educate the children, or make Tennessee a better place for its residents. We have found out that ignorance will always vote against their best interests and the powers in Tennessee have insured that Tennessee’s population is among the most ignorant in these United States.
