Chicken or the Egg???

THe only thing missing from this picture of the moon is the haunting song of the whip-poor-will. In the summer, the whip-poor-wills were the heralds of deep dusk which meant it was time to go inside and get ready for bed. Now, I live in the city and I don’t remember the last time I heard the song of the whip-poor-will.

Kudos to Namibia! Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is Namibia’s first female president and she appears to be of the same mind as Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso’s president. It’s time for Africans to control their land, their assets, their future. Western powers will only respect African countries that do not bow to their demands. Ghana is joining the club. Ghana is taking control of its gold industry.

Have you noticed–what was old is being revamped for 2025? I cannot believe that a new iteration of Harry Potter as a TV series is being filmed. Of course, this isn’t the only reboot or spin-off from an old series. Of course, a society grounded in stupidity will always reboot the tried and true money-makers. An aside–a designer is bringing back wide-legged pants like we had back in the 1970s.

It’s somewhat mindboggling to have all these cable, satellite, and streaming channels and there is nothing new to watch. I noticed that years ago when staying in a hotel and flipping through the channels, trying to find something of interest. I usually ended up finding a rerun of a show and turning down the volume. Sometimes, in a hotel room, reading did not ease me into sleep as it did at home.

Everywhere there are white people, murder is a preferred and time tested subject for their entertainment. I recently watched a show set in South Africa. Murder set to the tribal music of the indigenous people. Do they realize that music is a potent trigger? So, when the South Africans hear the tribal music, they will think murder, violence, barbarity because of the television shows. But that is what the whites want them to think. Under the guise of inclusion, their music is being demonized. And I am sure there are whites who say they are afraid when they hear the music. And the indigenous people in their naivete will ask themselves why.

I was thinking about acorn to oak, but I don’t have an oak tree on my property. I do have black walnuts and I found a few that the squirrels had missed. Why? I was watching a sci-fi show and one of the sub-themes was the terraforming of planets for human use. Also, I’ve been hearing about exploitation plans for Mars by the ultimate destroyers and exploiters. The arrogance of these people who call themselves white is staggering. What gives them the right to destroy other planets to service their greed? What gives them the right to interfere in the natural progression of a planet? It’s bad enough what they have done to Mother Earth. Think…Mother Earth had billions of years to test all kinds of combinations of chemicals, metals, radiation, electrical, cosmic, and solar energy, and what else we don’t know to finally create the combination that made humans. I think Mother Earth really tried with the dinosaurs. They roamed this Earth for millions of years. But they never self-realized and that is what Mother Earth needed in order to know the fullness of herself. Then, there is this little mouse mammal that, in fear, hid from the dinosaurs and other predators and lived in dark inaccessible places. Somehow, the possibility for sentience was within that little creature. Through trial and error, the right combination of environment, radiation, space particles all coalesced within that little creature to create the possibility of sentience. That tiny creature became the beneficiary of Mother Earth’s nurturance to become fully sentient. To become us. To become the destroyer of our Mother.

We see the walnut. By observing the walnut, we have no idea of its adult form…the tree it will become. This walnut may become a fifty plus foot tree, depending on its environment. The walnut trees in my yard, the seeds probably buried by squirrels for a winter’s meal, but forgotten, are tall and vigorous and bear no resemblance to the seed pictured above. But that seed carried their realized potential.

Just as Mother Earth experimented with potential, other planets, no matter how barren they may seem to us myopic humans, should be left to explore their potential. Left to nurture the potential that will become the sentience that will know them. Maybe, they will be luckier than Mother Earth. Maybe their sentience will honor their mother and they will know each other and become something more than either could become alone.

I try to plant pansies in the late fall when they go on sale. I have ever liked paying full price for pansies because I know they’re destined for the compost come spring planting. This year I noticed that the pansies had died sometime in February. Usually cold doesn’t bother pansies. They freeze and thaw out to bloom more robustly than before. Not this year…the pansies withered after freezing and I was planning to empty the pots to refill for planting the summer blooming flowers. Well, this past week, I noticed a single bloom in one of the pots. Pansies don’t like heat, so I will repot it because it is time to plant petunias. Here is a picture of the pansy that lived!
