There’s nothing new under the sun or the moon. However, eclipses have always filled us with awe and fear and made us think.
Before, I asked where do butterflies go when it rains. Now, I ask where are they on chilly mornings? I’ve noticed that the butterflies don’t appear until the sun warms the day.
If you read poetry from say the 1800s and before, the poets make reference to cerulean skies and maybe even cerulean seas. I never really thought about what shade of blue cerulean might be. Today, late October, clear, windy, high seventies, no clouds, the sky is this beautiful blue and I wonder if this is the shade of blue that the poets in the past referred to as cerulean.
What do you think?
Something has to change. White people keep perpetuating lies. When there are pictures of ancient Egyptians, white people are pictured, think Yul Brenner type. Exotic looking white. When whites talk about civilizations, they say Greece was the greatest civilization of its time. Really? If Greece was so great why did the Greeks travel to Kemet, now known as Egypt, to study? Everything feeds the lie that white people are the center of the universe and the greatest people. It’s as though truth is not in them because the truth is they are not great at anything but stealing, lying, murdering, appropriating, and destroying.
Watched a video about an African civilization that predates Kemet (Egypt). It’s name is Dhar Tichitt. It was located in what is now the Sahara Desert. (One ancient civilization whites cannot appropriate!) However, even then, the process of desertification had begun. However, a civilization that devised means of storing water, farming that fed thousands, and cultivated commerce thrived.
What if States weren’t divided into districts. What if there was ranked choice voting for a slate of candidates from all parts of a State. So the representatives would represent all the residents of a State and not any one district. Would that be a fair way to choose representatives? And, limit campaigning to six weeks or less. That would be plenty of time for a candidate to introduce themselves and their positions on the issues. Also, limit the amount of money raised to fund the campaign and the amount spent. Then, the question would be how to choose the slate of candidates. And, of course, we must figure out how the system could be gamed. Just a thought.
The regime is desecrating the White House to build a crass, tasteless, tawdry pyrite bedecked ballroom. The regime is demanding the taxpayer pay him some exorbitant amount of money because of the legitimate lawsuits brought by the Federal government to hold him accountable for his lawlessness. The regime is giving billions of dollars to the Argentina regime, but there is no money for the needs of the citizens. Elected officials who lie and in their lies point their finger at anyone but themselves, and every lie is an admission of their own words and actions. The sons of the regime are blatantly enriching themselves as the regime ‘s policies are meant to benefit them and the friends of the regime. And the trickle which was to pacify us, the people, has dried to the point there is no evidence that there ever was a trickle.
Good news is that more people turned out for the No Kings protests. There was no violence. However, the regime posted videos of the regime in an airplane dumping Shit on the protesters and also released videos of the the regime’s second wearing a crown. And it was the regime’s cult members who were arrested for violence, not the protesters. The regime’s cult is ignorant and violent. They continue to show their true colors for all to see.
Don’t you think it is strange that men and women in their late twenties, thirties, and forties are called “kids”. That’s how their vile words that were exposed in a Politico article have been excused. Just kids being kids. Search of Internet says that brain development matures from mid-twenties to thirty. So, most of the males and females who participated in the racist, etc., texts were adults with mature brains. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/14/private-chat-among-young-gop-club-members-00592146 But isn’t that the way it always has been–the hypocrisy and the double standard? Long time ago, a 14 year old boy who happened to be Black was tried, convicted, and executed for a crime that he did not commit. Say his name–George Stinney. At no time did anyone say oh, he was just a boy. Just like Emmett Till…did his murderers say he was just a boy? But these white male and female adults are said to be kids and that is how their atrocious behavior is excused and normalized.
Have you ever had something on your mind and you know if you don’t do something, you might not like the consequences? I’ve been thinking it was time to change the oil in the car. Car was running fine, so maybe I could have gone a bit longer. But I realized I was looking at the mileage and not the time that had passed since the last oil change. Well, I was passing the oil change vendor I had used in the past and I got the oil changed. For the oil change it was $77.00, not including tax. I also bought an air filter for the interior of the car because, truth be told, I don’t think it had ever been changed. I try not to buy indiscriminately because the necessities are so expensive. And I certainly don’t ever want another car note, so I am trying to take care of the car I have.
In the past, the price increases were incremental and not so noticeable. Now, it’s what will the market bear. One plus–the technician was a Black female. And, on a side note, I saw a Black male on a construction crew. Rare sights!
Seems like a long time age–I guess it was! We would collect big burlap bags of black walnuts and take them to a business and get a dollar or two of spending money. Memory is so weird–I don’t remember if we hulled them. I know we hulled enough for the annual Christmas cakes that my mother and grandmother made. One does not forget the yellowish-black stain that would not wash off, but had to wear off! We didn’t eat them. The nuts had to age before they were good to eat. Now, the walnut trees in my yard are bare of walnuts and leaves…but not birds. I happened to look out and there were so many birds in one tree that I thought they were leaves. By the time I got outside most had flown away.
Maybe, these two were sentinels doing their duty! And the walnuts are rotting on the ground, waiting for a squirrel to come along and bury them for a winter’s meal.
Another price increase–eating out. I went to brunch and with tip the bill was over fifty dollars. No alcohol, just food and iced tea. My friends’ bills were even higher as their entrees were more expensive I knew there was a reason I do not eat out that often.
