I’ve been outside, clearing the raised beds and the flower beds. Last year, I didn’t plant the raised beds. I will always wonder why the raised beds grow weeds and grass better than vegetables. I thought I cleared the raised beds last year, but obviously I didn’t, for there were saplings which had taken hold and couldn’t be pulled out.
Just so we know what ketamine is: Ketamine is used as an anesthetic for surgery, a treatment for depression, and is a drug of abuse. t is also a drug of abuse that is used illegally recreationally for its hallucinogenic properties and is known to be a “date rape” drug as it causes short-term memory loss.

- Long-term problems: Ulcers and pain in the bladder; kidney problems; stomach pain; depression; poor memory.

If a Black male were on an hallucinogenic drug and in a position of power, white people would be screaming–why isn’t he in jail?; Fire him; I told you that Black people were of low character and criminal, etc., etc. But a white guy on an hallucinogenic drug in a position of power–silence, nothing but silence. The hypocrisy of white people is on full display.
And now, a drug addict, a liar, person who came to the U.S. illegally, baby daddy to many children by different women, and a person with no respect for the rule of law may be investigating an incompetent alcoholic member of an incompetent administration. Make it make sense. Unless the stupidity and incompetence that is being investigated is plausible deniability, i.e., their purpose is to disclose the data and hide behind stupidity and incompetence. That would make sense, but I don’t see the intelligence required to execute such a plan. Someone likened the white incompetents to frat boys. That fits…frat boys and no adult in sight that has the ability to critically think. Their brains are so undeveloped or fried that they cannot conceive of consequences. They are like Tarzan beating his chest after a kill.
ad hominem–appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect; marked by or being an attack on an opponent’s character rather than by an answer to the contentions made. Merriam Webster online. Or in old fashion terms, one of the five horses of Calumny–smearing. Over and over, the same playbook–the corrupt, the incompetent never address the issue, but always smear the messenger. And every smear is a direct indictment of the corrupt individual who is speaking.
Was it in Animal Farm where there were all the fat pigs were stupidly posturing, congratulating themselves on their false narrative of superiority while their world collapsed? I reread Animal Farm because of the previous sentence and found that this memory was probably entangled with the memory from other books I have read. However, Animal Farm memorialized what Orwell knew was true about his people. The lies, disinformation, gaslighting, the changing of rules, the rewriting of history, the othering, the appropriation of the others’ ideas, the non-education of the workers, lack of payment to the workers whose labor supported the non-workers, the hypocrisy, the narcissism, fear mongering, the betrayal–all present in Animal Farm–we are living, today in 2025.
However, bottom line, Animal Farm is about one group of pigs seizing power from another group of pigs under the pretext that their way will give their followers a better life. However, because the followers are uneducated, stupid, ill fed, overworked, and suffer from short term memory loss, the followers actually have it worse. The followers also have an irrational need to be told what to do, how to live, why they exist, and there is always a narcissistic pig oinking for that role. Worse is obscured by pageantry, extra rations (doled out when the animals get restless), meaningless awards, propaganda, lies, and manufactured fear. Maybe Orwell is telling us that his people will always follow the pretext. They’re the sheep mindlessly bleating the current party line. His people are not intelligent enough to see through the pretext and will willingly repeat the worse until their death which will come early and be monetized for the benefit of the pigs in power. If one cannot remember or can be gaslighted into remembering a fictional history that only benefits the pigs, one cannot learn from experience. One is doomed to repeat the worse.
Maybe if people read more, there would be less repetition of the worse. But, as previously noted in another posting, there are college students who cannot read a book. They can only digest the condensed, highlighted version of a book. That’s sad.
The music inherent in some musical instruments can make us feel sad or weepy or empathetic–the violin and the bagpipe come to mind.
Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies.
