Talkin’ Loud & Sayin’ Nothin’!

I recently found out that banana tree sends out underground roots and each year trees grow from those roots. The prior year’s tree’s stump decays into the earth. I was gifted with a banana plant and thought I had killed it by cutting it down. Now, I have three or four trees growing in that area.

I saw a humming bird today. It was flitting around the Japanese honeysuckle. That’s a first. Mother Nature is full of surprises!

I voted. I read up on the candidates, knew who I wanted to vote for, and was in and out within ten minutes. When will white people stop changing the meaning of words and phrases? Colorblind in the United States is just their code word for white supremacy. My people fought so hard to have a voice in this hell-hole of a country and to have what they fought for taken away by six racist partisans is so disheartening. They know this country is racist, so they make it nigh impossible to prove racism. I never thought I’d use the word “sophistry”. Sophistry is a word one reads when reading books on rhetoric or philosophy. One looks it up in the dictionary and notes the definition. That’s what I did long time ago,

When I read the decision in Louisiana v. Callais, sophistry is the word that came to mind. Sophistry means the use of clever but false, misleading, or fallacious reasoning often intended to deceive or manipulate. Sophistry involves arguments that appear plausible on the surface, but are logically unsound. Sophistry has no interest in the truth. That is the majority opinion in Callais, an exercise in sophistry. And then there is the unnecessary concurring opinion by Thomas. Okay, Thomas, when you look in the mirror, you see a white man wanna-be. We get it. If there is any law or practice that white people thinks diminishes their supremacy you will agree with them. Would there be available some drug or process to lighten your skin, sharpen your features so the world does not see you as “Black.” I wouldn’t denigrate the term “Uncle Tom”. At least, the original Uncle Tom was trying to survive and his choices were worse and worst. Apparently, you want to be white, you want to grift, you want to be the only person who looks like you left standing. Self-hatred–your concurrence is permeated with self-hatred.

Already, southern states are taking away our voice. They rushed to call special sessions as soon as the Callais opinion was released. But, they already knew what the opinion would say, didn’t they? The response was too quick and coordinated. One day this land stolen by the whites will rise and their descendants will be the ones who will suffer because their descendants have had many opportunities to create a nation that actually is of, for, and by the people. Every opportunity has been squandered.

I wonder if there is a special place in hell for those who swear an oath and then because of their greed, power-lust, evilness renege on that oath? Because the Constitution means nothing to the six justices who have made a decision based on partisanship and not the Constitution or the rule of law.

When one laughs at the evil one does, when one has no morals or character, when the empty shell that contains a life force so committed to evil, the fate of Ahab and Jezebel awaits. When even the God you pray to has no more use for the evil you perpetuate, you and yours are consigned to a death that will leave no trace of your walk on this Earth and the dogs will feast. That’s what I thought when I saw the video of the ignorant white racist males who redrew the districts in Tennessee. They’re Tennesseans, so can they read and comprehend what they read? Probably not, but 2 Kings 9-10 would be an instructive read.

The South has consigned itself to a future of poverty, ignorance, ill-health as it did back in the 1800s after the Civil War. The South didn’t rise then and it won’t rise now. A few will make money off the poor white people’s misery as they will support the few at the expense of their own livelihood. That’s what poor whites do. Because being white is more important than being a decent human being. That was true after the Civil War and it is true today.

Money trumps ethics and morals and good intentions. Evil people toss coins to the poor in the hopes that the poor will not rise against them. And the hoi polloi , every time takes the coins and gives the rich the accolades they crave, but in no way deserve. Money makes one forget/excuse/overlook the exploitation, the ecological damage, the disease ravaged shortened lives that the coins represent. What would happen if the hoi polloi did not take the coins and make a few lives better? Either way, the rich continues the exploitation of lives and resources. The outcome no one has successfully figured out is how to take the money and use it to neuter the rich donor.

Lunch in this city for two shouldn’t cost $60.00, with tip. Do the restaurant owners have a clue as to why their restaurants have few diners on a Saturday afternoon?

One benefit our ancestors had…there wasn’t all this media and they didn’t have to listen to these white supremacists spouting their lies every minute of the day and night. That must have provided some peace to their lives. They weren’t ignorant of the lies, but they could curate their experience.

I saw a commercial for some show and I was amazed…the show is hyping that life on Earth is a misery…trials and tribulations, but…wait…when you die…you will get your reward. This is 2026… when do we stop with the life on the other side of Jordan bliss? The only persons who benefit from that belief are the amoral, unethical rich picking our earthly pockets. They get to live the gilded life on Earth, while we pay for it. If the other side of Jordan is so great, why don’t they want that for themselves?

After I read Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States published in 1980 and updated in 2003, I read A True History Of The United States by Daniel A. Sjursen published in 2021. Sjursen served in the military and taught history at West Point. I don’t know if it was in Sjursen’s book or another but back in the 1800s a pundit said that the purpose of the United States was to be a place where a white man (the pundit said “man” but he only meant males who looked like him) could get rich. Sjursen’s book was as equally depressing as Zinn’s.

The United States–life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…Translated–Life for the greed obsessed white male; liberty for that greed obsessed white male to exploit the people and resources to satisfy his greed; and pursuit of happiness by that white male in being greedy, narcissistic, barbaric, exploitive, cruel, misogynistic, racist, all while exhibiting the low intelligence and laziness of a person solely concerned with satisfying one’s base emotional proclivities. No one–not women, Native Americans, Blacks, Southern Europeans, Latinos, Asians,–no one other than white, Anglo-Saxon, protestant, English land-owning males were supposed to benefit from the creation of the United States.

When I hear so-called educated pundits talking about the aspirational promise of the United States, I shake my head at their incredulity. They believe a fantasy created to make a certain element in the United States withdraw their criticism and their demand for change. Just shut-up and that aspirational country will magically come into being. And the whites and some hungry for white adjacency fall for it every time.

The United States has produced no leaders who have the mindset of a philosopher king (before that philosopher king was inevitably corrupted). The leaders in the United States have always been bought by corporate/business interests, morally compromised, liars, war mongers, unethical. The people have always been exploited and manipulated while a few have profited and gained wealth at the expense of the people. Dissension (any person or policy that does not agree with the exploitation of the masses or resources for the benefit of the few) has always been met with governmental violence and private violence sanctioned by the government.

The founders and the ones in power throughout the United States’ two hundred and fifty years of existence have always wanted an English type system–king, nobles, and serfs–and have by every other name imaginable sought to create that system in the United States. The United States has always been a corrupt government that has never been great or exceptional. It has over and over again rewarded the basest of human activities for its own profit and glorification. In the Interregnum from the 1960s to on or about the year 2000, the corruption was buried under an avalanche of words and actions whose meanings to the persons in power were different from what was in the dictionary and what polite society taught.

From prosperity gospel to the picket fence, it’s all about greed. “(W)e must conclude that America carries the baggage of four dark historical themes. These are genocide, racism, hyper-capitalism, and empire.” Excerpt from A True History Of The United States. Two hundred and fifty years of those dark themes. On its 250th birthday, the United States has nothing to celebrate. Does one celebrate white supremacy/nationalism, Fascism, kleptocracy, Oligarchy, greed, militarism to name a few facets of the dark side of the United States? I think not.
